When adjusting the shades using the cord or motor, the alternating horizontal stripes roll to overlap. For optimal light control, adjust the shades so that the opaque stripes overlap to allow light to filter through the sheer stripes. If more privacy or room darkening is desired, spread out the opaque stripes. Rolling the blinds to the top of the window allows for maximum light and view. The alternating stripes provide control over the amount of light and privacy in the space, transitioning from light to dark in seconds.
